Q&A: Betterment

The one hundred-ninth question for the Q&A section of this blog is: “Who would you pick as the president who did the most for the betterment of the country?”

Again, we don’t have presidents, we have prime ministers…so I’m going to go with Jean Chretien. Why? Because I like him. I don’t know – and honestly I don’t particularly care – if he did a whole hell of a lot for the betterment of the country, but it was certainly much better than it is now, he did a lot of great things, and I just plain like him. So a winner is him.

Q&A: President?

The one hundred-eighth question for the Q&A section of this blog is: “What do you most want the current president to accomplish?”

Well, being in Canada, we don’t have presidents, we have prime ministers…so what do I most want the current prime minister to accomplish? I most want him (Stephen Harper) to get the fuck out of office and give us our country back. Or, if he could go one step further, I want him to go back in time to before he was elected and get the fuck out then, so none of the horrible things that have happened under his “rule” would ever occur.

Q&A: Anger vs. Pride

The one hundred-fifth question for the Q&A section of this blog is: “What is the one thing about your country that makes you angriest? And proudest?”

At the moment, the thing that makes me angriest about my country is its leadership. Our current leader and his party have completely destroyed most of what was so great about this country, and that is simultaneously depressing and infuriating. We were, and could have continued to be, such a great nation, but now we’re a disgrace, and that sickens me. So yeah, I’m not going to go into any more detail on that right now, but that’s what makes me angriest.

Seems to be how Harper feels about us.

Seems to be how Harper feels about us.

As for what makes me proudest, I’m honestly not sure anymore. I used to be so incredibly proud of this country, and sometimes still feel that pride well up inside of me, but when it does, I find it harder and harder to really identify why I’m feeling proud. I guess maybe it’s the people, since for the most part, Canada is still full of good people…but it used to be so much more, and that’s just sad. At least it’s still a beautiful country, and we still try to be friendly, despite the way our leader would have us presented to the world now…

Q&A: My Country

The ninetieth question for the Q&A section of this blog is: “What one word would you say best describes your country?”

At the moment? ‘Abused’. I won’t get into a whole political spiel about our government and what’s been going on, but right now, I would say Canada is in a pretty abusive relationship with our “leader” (Harper). He needs to go.

But that’s all I’m going to say about that, because I really don’t want to get into any of that right now! So we’re abused, and largely unhappy, and that’s all for now.

Q&A: Bad trips

The thirteenth question for the Q&A section of this blog is: “What was the worst vacation you ever took?”

Y’know, when I think back to the vacations I have taken, I’m not sure I’ve ever really had a bad one.  I haven’t been on many, but the ones I have been on have been pretty amazing, and all in completely different ways, so there’s not really much to complain about with those.  The closest I’ve had to ‘bad’, I think, is when I was a kid and I went on a road trip to Cape Breton with my dad, his girlfriend and my sister, and my sister decided that instead of getting out of the car when we pulled over because she was feeling carsick, she’d throw up on my legs and feet instead…which is how I developed my fear of vomit.

Still, though, the rest of the trip (that I can remember) was great, so I’m not sure I could really call it bad.  I suppose it’s probably still ‘the worst’, though.

If ‘vacation’ can also cover stay-cations, that opens things up a bit better, since I’ve had far more of those than I have actual trips…unfortunately, that doesn’t really help me here, because I don’t remember most of them.  Since I started working from home, I don’t get paid vacation time, so I don’t really take any time off, because I can’t afford it…so my last stay-cation would probably have been years ago.  I do remember one that I took to spend time with my boyfriend, because we’d been having a stressful run of it with life and wanted to finally have some real time together to relax, and instead we ended up breaking up for some reason…but other than that, I can’t really remember anything that happened on any of my stay-cations at all, so there may have been some worse than that.

That definitely sucked, though.

That definitely sucked, though.

So…trip wise, vomit, stay-cation wise, breakup.  That’s all I’ve got for this one, I think.
